What Early Readers Are Saying

I couldn't put it down.

About the Book

Raw, direct, and honest.

Dave was the guy everyone came to for answers. Then his own life blew up. Facing loss, shame, and silence from God, he nearly gave up. Disappointing Grace is the simple roadmap God used to help him climb out.

This isn't a theological argument or a self-help formula. It's the story of a phone call with his father, a wife who didn't leave, a friend who showed up, a church that stayed, and a God who met him again — not by fixing everything, but by not letting go.

It's short. You can read it in a couple of sittings, or listen to the audiobook — read by Dave in his own voice — on one long drive. It includes a reader's guide for personal reflection or group study.

"I was there when his world fell apart. I watched a man who had built something significant see it collapse under him. I watched him walk through shame, financial ruin, and a legal nightmare that threatened to take everything. Here is what I never saw: I never saw Dave walk away."— Rev. Dr. Matthew Pickering, from the Foreword
"Dave didn't write this book from a comfortable distance. He wrote it from inside the fire."— Rev. Dr. Matthew Pickering

Who This Book Is For

If you've ever prayed hard and God still felt silent

This book was written for people who are hurting quietly. People who've drifted from God, or from church, or from both, and just need somebody to say: me too — and there's a way back.

It's for the person up at midnight wondering if faith still works when life falls apart. For the spouse carrying something alone. For the friend who doesn't know what to say.

In Dave's words: "I beg you to come out of your silent isolation and take a journey with me. If you never expected life to be as hard as yours is right now, this short read will lead you to the medicine you need."

What You'll Discover

A roadmap through the wreckage

Why your doubt — and even anger at God — might be the very doorway He's been waiting for you to walk through. The three paths every broken person faces, and how two of them quietly poison your soul. Honest, realistic, and simple action steps you can use today, even with zero strength left, to begin getting your life back.

"Standing in the wreckage, he found a different kind of grace."

Dave Fleet

About the Author

Dave Fleet

Dave built a multimillion-dollar company, lost it all, nearly quit — but then found God in the ashes. He was put back together by Jesus, a faithful wife, and people who refused to let him stay broken.

Now he spends his life helping others find their way back. He wrote Disappointing Grace because he believes there are a lot of people hurting quietly who've drifted from God and just need someone to say, "me too." The audiobook is read in his own voice, because some things land better heard than read.

"If my story helps even one person stop hiding and start healing — it was worth telling."

The Mission

Help broken people heal, and point them back to Jesus.

That's the whole thing. Dave has plenty of options for what to do with this stretch of his life. He chose this one — because too many people are hurting quietly, and too many have drifted from God and from the kind of community that could walk with them.

The book is a bridge, not the destination. If it helps even one person take a step back toward honesty, toward hope, toward Jesus and a real church — it was worth writing.
